Quality product photography, like any photography, is a specialist genre. When you have the opportunity to spend a day learning from one of the best in the world - he does product photography for the Rolls-Royce of camera manufacturers Hasselblad - you know you are in for a treat.
Oh boy, what an experience it was watching Jonathan Beer FBIPP perform his magic!
As he doesn't offer training and rarely accepts engagements to speak about his work, it was a huge privilege I won't forget. Learnt so much...

Two beautiful young sisters, an adorable pony and stunning weather is a recipe for a great equine lifestyle shoot. Add to that meeting a legendary horsewoman, aka Rosemary Attfield, then you have an extremely happy photographer!
Here is the moment little sis has her first ever sit on the six-year-old Rosie, helped by a proud big sis.

British Dressage magazine issue 3 2015 is out featuring the lovely Helen Stone, winner of last year's Petplan Equine Area Festival High Achiever award, whom I had the pleasure of photographing at Adam Kemp's yard, AM Dressage.
Adam donated lessons to the winner and it was amazing to watch the transformation he achieved in such a short time while we were combining a training session and photo shoot.

My 11-year-old son decided he wanted to assist at a pre-wed shoot yesterday, so I gave him my back-up camera and heavy 70-200mm lens, not expecting many images to be sharp as that's a weight many adults struggle to work with.
Little did I know he was going to produce these outstanding images…

You meet some incredible people in my line of work, none more so than Margaret Fowler of Oxford Hill Rugs. In her 70s, she travels the country with her two cats in a transit van towing a caravan, selling her home-made dog coats and horse rugs.
I will be eternally grateful for the kindness she showed me at the South of England Spring Show when she made me a lovely hot cup of soup when I was cold to the bones on the first day…

Lead rein showing classes really are something else. I just love the matching outfits. This is the champion, three-year-old Oscar Elcock riding Thistledown Velvet Button, at the South of England Spring Show held at the South of England Showground, Ardingly.

Bob The Leopard

I don't usually photograph leopards, but this one is somewhat special if not unique. I cannot imagine there are many "rocking" leopards about! Bob is the hand-crafted creation of the talented Debbie Hinton of Jolly Rockers. He is one of a limited edition and a percentage of sales will be going to charity to help protect the Bob's living relatives.

Working with studio lighting is very different to my usual lifestyle photography, where you have to find the best available light. It was such fun and my model Dannie was a dream to work with.

It's always special to see one's images in print, especially when it's a cover. This gorgeous shy foal was bred by Char Lassetter of Lassetter Dressage at Molcomb Stud on the Goodwood Estate.

Had a great fun evening experimenting with my new 85mm f1.4 lens at the Capel Camera Club portrait evening. One of the model's was my son's guitar teacher, who spent the night strumming. Made for a special evening!

So chuffed; not only do I have letters after my name, I'm now officially an award-winning photographer, having won the British Institute of Professional Photography's Best Licentiate Award 2014 today at Hartwell House.
It was a truly incredible day, meeting so many amazing like-minded photographers, especially Kevin Wilson FBIPP, who is a bit of a hero of mine as the godfather of wedding photographers. So humble and down to earth - he has FIVE fellowships from different photographic societies - and he took pictures of me! #starstruck #careerhigh!

With Freddie Parker needing products shots for its expanding homeware range, I was given the brief to create some images of the large cushions with spring flowers and recreate spring in January. Here are the results…

Have received an invitation to the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) Awards Ceremony on the 5th Feb at Hartwell House. Fingers crossed as I've been nominated for the Peter Grugeon Best Licentiate Panel of the Year 2014.
